The IDF Home Front on Sunday morning said that it was far more ready for Iran's ballistic missile attacks during the current war than during the June 2025 Rising Lion War.

Based on the lessons learned from June 2025, the IDF Home Front credited the military and the civilian population with having fewer hits, deaths, and wounded.

According to the IDF Home Front, the procedure of an initial general warning 10-20 minutes before a threat, followed by a siren around 90 seconds before a threat, along with general civilian awareness of staying near safe rooms and bomb shelters, has made the country far safer.

To date, only one Israeli has been killed, and dozens of Israelis have been wounded, but mostly lightly, and often from indirect causes.

Only 10 missiles landed in Israeli territory and there has been only one substantial hit, in Tel Aviv, with a more minor hit in Petah Tikvah.

The Tel Aviv strike was a full missile hit of hundreds of kilograms, and there were two other big hits in open areas.

Operation Roarin Lion vs 12 Day War in June

Although the situation could worsen, during the 12 days of June 2025, the harm from Iranian missiles was far worse, with 28 dead, thousands wounded, and over 13,000 residences damaged from 36 direct hits.

To date, the most Iran has managed to fire in any one salvo was in the range of a couple of dozen missiles, versus the 200 or more missiles fired in one day in June 2025.

Most salvos have been of around three missiles at a time, leading to less overall danger, but more warnings, sending civilians into their safe rooms more often than in June 2025.

Those missiles fired have been similar to those fired during June 2025, including using cluster munitions, which spread out more over a greater area, but have less individual destructive impact.

The IDF Home Front did warn the civilian population to be careful of any fragments which have fallen off blown up missiles which could still be dangerous.

Most missiles have been fired from the Western Iran region closest to Israel.

The US and Israel have not yet succeeded in pushing ballistic missile launches back toward central to eastern Iran, which eventually started to occur in June 2025.

The IDF was hopeful that this tactical shift of pushing the missile firing lines further away from Israel would occur in the coming days.

According to the IDF Home Front, all air travel to and from Israel will be closed at least for another day, with the situation being re-evaluated on a daily basis going forward.

For now, the whole Israeli economy and school systems are closed, with only essential services open.

IDF Home Front Commander Maj. Gen. Shai Kleper has been in his role since July 2025.

There are now more rescue teams, dozens able to cover the country, for potential large impacts, than there were in June 2025.
