The remains of two men were found inside a burning car in a forest near Kafr Kassem on Saturday, Magen David Adom (MDA) said in a statement.

"After receiving reports of a car burning near Kafr Kassem, two persons were found by paramedics with no signs of life inside the burned-down vehicle, and were declared dead on site," said MDA.

Firefighters from Petah Tikva were the first to arrive on scene. "Upon arriving at the scene, we saw the burning vehicle, with trees and vegetation burning around it. Working with the fighterfighting team, a search was conducted in the vehicle, and the two people inside were declared dead," Commander Amit Lubiner said.

Israel Police has opened an investigation on the incident, and the findings were already "transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine to complete the identification process."
