Watch For the Love of a Woman, a film adaptation of the 1994 novel Four Meals (The Loves of Judith) by the late Meir Shalev. Directed by Guido Chiesa, this Italian film has some very well-known actors performing in it, such as Mili Avital, Menashe Noy, and Moni Moshonov.
The plot is about an American-Jewish woman who lives a very unusual life in Israel that results in her child having three fathers, none too sure who his real father might be.

Watch the 1959 classic black-and-white film Some Like it Hot. Directed by Billy Wilder, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon pretend to be women musicians in this movie and fall head over heels with the female-band singer Sugar Kane – played by Marilyn Monroe.
This witty and charming film is considered a gem of American cinema.

Take a seat in one of the many lectures offered at the 53rd Annual Conference for Science and the Environment. Held at the International Convention Center (Binyenei Ha’uma), the two-day event includes such unusual topics as how KKL-JNF uses pruned branches to re-nourish the soil (Hall 3, 11 a.m.); how germs are used to make desert land suitable to grow food (Hall 2, 3:45 p.m.); and “When nature doesn’t play along.” In this lecture, Prof. Adiv Gal will discuss how a class of children in the fifth grade responds to their conservation project ending in failure.

Visit the opening of a new exhibition of paintings and pottery by the late Yael Topol at Marie Gallery. Curated by Yoram Blumenkrantz, the selected works offer a long view of her home in the neighborhood of Sha’araim, a mostly Yemenite-Jewish neighborhood in southern Rehovot.
Readers with a deep interest in Mizrahi history might pick up a copy of her 2005 book, Ringworm Girl – Lessons in Yemeni Pottery. As part of the mass wave of Jewish migration to Israel from North Africa and Yemen, tens of thousands of children were given X-ray treatment to cure them of scalp ringworm.
