Leading Jewish and Arab Israeli artists will take the stage at Heichal Hatarbut in Lod on Thursday for a memorial concert to commemorate US journalist Daniel Pearl.
David Broza, Mira Awad, and the Jerusalem Jewish-Arab Youth Chorus are in the line-up for the free performance that will start at 8 a.m. Thursday.
The event will take place as part of the 12th-annual "Daniel Pearl World Music Days." The month-long international series of concerts was established by Pearl's family to promote tolerance and cultural diversity in memory of the Wall Street Journal reporter and avid music lover, who was kidnapped and brutally murdered in Pakistan in 2002.
The inaugural World Music Days even was launched following Pearl's funeral on Ocober 10, 2002 - what would have been his 39th birthday - with more than 100 concerts in 18 countries.
In conjunction with the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, advance registration for the event can be made via tlvpdpe@state.gov.
