Revelers in Tel Aviv are expected to celebrated the annual all-night White Night festivities on Thursday that mark the city’s designation as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Dozens of celebratory White Night events are due to simultaneously take place throughout the city – both outdoors and at cultural centers – starting early in the evening and ending in the wee hours.
Among the highlights were a headphones party in Rabin Square; an urban art display titled “Street Art Europa” presented by the European Union; a Greek celebration in Jaffa; a plethora of musical performances at Sarona Market; and a rooftop party at the municipality.
A formal, hush-hush picnic dinner organized by the municipality, the Institut Francais of Israel, Evian, Badoit, J.P.Chenet Ice, and Paulette was scheduled to take place at secret location to be announced by SMS shortly before it begins at 7:30 p.m. Participants were requested to dress in all white.
Since the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization made the declaration in 2003, the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality has held the series of White Night events.
