Rivka Michaeli recognized with lifetime achievement prize
On May 25, at the 2018 Israel Theater Prize awards ceremony, Michaeli will receive the Meir Margalit Life Achievement Award.

At close to 80, actress, singer, comedienne, presenter and broadcaster Rivka Michaeli is still going strong, presenting a cultural program on the radio among other gigs.On May 25, at the 2018 Israel Theater Prize awards ceremony, Michaeli will receive the Meir Margalit Life Achievement Award for her contribution to radio, TV, film and theater.Born and raised in Jerusalem, Michaeli started her career on a radio children’s program, did her army service as an IDF Radio announcer, worked as a presenter on the Voice of Israel radio station for years while appearing with the late, great Yossi Banai (who discovered her) in side-splitting radio skits. She was part of the iconic Nikui Rosh (“Head Cleaning”) satires on TV, emceed programs such as Reason for a Party, acted in movies, winning an Ophir (the Israeli Oscar) for her role in the 2005 movie Have to Be Happy, guest starred in a series of TV dramas, such as Life Isn’t Everything, and on the soap Pickup.In 2014 Tel Aviv awarded her the key to the city, in 2016 she starred in a French movie about the Mossad and last year she played at Habima in A Love Story in Three Chapters, portraying a mother.
