Lend a Hand
A few weeks after its sale to NVidia, Mellanox is continuing its activity and encouraging equal opportunities in Israel. At the Tzrifin IDF base in the center of the country, a ceremony was held to hand out uniforms and a Mellanox unit was inaugurated in conjunction with the organization Lend a Hand to a Special Child, which assists children with special needs by helping them realize their potential, encouraging their independence, and helping each child integrate into her or his community, the army and later in a job. The organization also offers assistance and tools to the children’s families. The Mellanox unit was inaugurated by Eyal Waldman, president and CEO of Mellanox; Gabi Ofir, program director of Lend a Hand; Amir Prescher, Mellanox senior vice president of End-User Sales and business development; Michael Kagan, CTO and a Mellanox co-founder;  Nimrod Gindi, Mellanox vice president, Merger and Acquisitions; Rabbi Mendy Blinitzky, CEO of Lend a Hand; and the children helped by the organization.

Guests included: Danna Azrieli, chair of the Azrieli Group, her husband Danny Hakim and her mother Stephanie Azrieli; Raviv Zoller, CEO of Israel Chemicals and his wife Miri; Shuky Sheffer, CEO of Amdocs; Yaron Bloch, chairman of Leumi Card; Dudi Weissman, owner of Sonol; Zvi Stepak, one of the controlling shareholders of Meitav Dash; Elliot Antebi; Poju Zabludowicz; and Judith and Henry Take.
Lone soldiers
Last Friday at the Flam Winery near Eshtaol, a special fundraising event was held especially for lone soldiers. This unique program assists lone soldiers before their enlistment, during their service and for three years after their IDF service. This program is run by an organization that assists young people at risk who were expelled from various frameworks or who grew up on the streets, who’ve decided to contribute to society and enlist. The event was hosted by Gilad and Golan Flam, the owners of the winery, together with Drorit Nitzani, the community relations director of the lone soldiers program, and Liora Rubinstein, director of the Lone Soldier Center in Memory of Michael Levin. The festive event included musical performances by Monica Sex and Maor Cohen and lots of bright sun and fine wine.
Italian Law Conference
Last week, the Italian court system held its annual conference in Rome. One of the panels, including a number of Israeli representatives, focused on empowering women and dealing with women’s roles in democratic countries. The panel was presided over by Yohanna Arbib, who served as chairwoman of the Italian Law Conference. Participants in the conference included: Elisabetta Casellati, president of the Italian Senate; Vice President of the Italian Parliament Mara Carfagna; Brooke Goldstein, founder and executive director of The Lawfare Project; and Efrat Duvdevani, director-general at the Peres Center for Peace and Innovation. The participants jointly called for the establishment of a national project that would encourage Italian innovation and strengthen trade relations between Israel and Italy, including cooperative efforts with the Peres Center.
