At the 26th TheaterNetto monodrama festival, Sina'it Ben-Ga'ash won the Nissim Azikri NIS 10,000 first prize for her dynamic, multi-roled performance in Testimony from Afterwards, which she also wrote. The material is based on testimonies from men and women whose lives irrevocably changed after the traumas of war. Ben-Ga'ash lost her own father in the Yom Kippur War. Her sensitive treatment of the material, read the judges' citation in part, turned it “into our own blood-soaked story.” Honorable mention went to Rahik Hajji Yahi-Suleiman for Unborn Story, about a woman who breaks the chains of shame and disgrace after suffering sexual abuse. There were nine plays in competition at the festival, that ended Wednesday night.
