The Pfefferman family are heading to Israel.Season 4 of Transparent, the Amazon Prime show about a Jewish transgender woman and her family, will focus on a family visit to the Holy Land. The trailer for the upcoming season, which will premiere in its entirety on September 22, was released by Amazon on Friday.When Maura, played by Jeffrey Tambor, and her daughter depart Ben-Gurion Airport, they kneel down on the floor to kiss the ground. And they're summarily knocked over by a pair of ultra-Orthodox men wheeling suitcases.While there are bound to be humorous moments, the show will undoubtedly take on some more heated political issues. The trailer shows shots of the kotel, camel rides, taking a dip in the Jordan River and Palestinians crossing a military checkpoint.The Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series, created by the Jewish Jill Soloway, has regularly put Jewish themes front and center. Kathryn Hahn plays one of the main characters, Rabbi Raquel Fein, who is both the family's spiritual leader and the ex-fiancee of Maura's son, Josh. Other storylines have included a Yom Kippur break-fast, a Passover Seder aboard a cruise ship and a Havdalah ceremony that devolves into a fight over the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
