The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) expressed its condolences on Tuesday over the death of Capt. (res.) Tal Movshovitz, who was killed in combat on Monday in southern Gaza.

Movshovitz, 28, from Reut, served as a deputy company commander in the 7086th Combat Engineering Battalion in the Golani Brigade and was also employed by the Shin Bet.

Movshovitz is the 11th casualty of the security agency since the October 7 massacre, during which the previous 10 were killed.

He leaves behind a wife and two children.

Bringing the hostages home

"The brave IDF soldiers continue to fight with courage against the brutal terrorist organization Hamas, for the sacred goal of bringing all the hostages home," Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Tuesday, following the announcement of the death of Staff Sergeant Naveh Leshem, a soldier in the 12th Battalion, in the Golani Brigade, on Tuesday.

IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin said on Monday that IDF troops continue to operate throughout Gaza, in Jabalya, Khan Yunis, northern Gaza, and in every area where “terror attempts to resurface.”

“Troops are raiding targets, dismantling infrastructure, and eliminating terrorists,” Defrin said.

In a direct message to the remaining hostages in Gaza, Defrin said that the IDF has not and will not give up on them for a moment. “Your return is always before our eyes.”
