The Israeli Air Force (IAF) struck over 20 military targets in Tehran on Wednesday, according to a statement released by the IDF.

According to the statement, 60 IAF fighter jets, directed by the IDF Intelligence Directorate, carried out the strikes.

The targets included sites linked to Iran’s nuclear development project and missile production infrastructure. The strike was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to thwart Iran’s nuclear ambitions, the IDF said.

The military added that Iran intended the targeted facilities to expand the regime’s uranium enrichment capabilities and increase the pace of its nuclear weapons production.

The IDF noted that Iran is enriching uranium at levels well beyond those required for civilian use, focusing on high-grade enrichment associated with military applications.

To ensure the durability of its production capabilities, the Islamic Republic has dispersed its infrastructure across a wide geographical area, the military said.

Years spent collecting intelligence on Iran

The IDF Intelligence Directorate has spent years collecting intelligence on Iran’s military-industrial complex. In the latest strikes, factories that manufacture raw materials and components for missile assembly were also targeted, along with facilities producing air defense systems.

“The Iranian regime launches missiles toward the State of Israel and its civilians, missiles produced in order to harm Israeli civilians,” the IDF said.

The IDF added that it would continue to act against Iran’s nuclear weapons program to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.
