The families of hostages still held by Hamas appealed to US President Donald Trump to use Israel’s war with Iran as an opportunity to make a comprehensive deal that would bring their loved ones home.
In an open letter to the president, posted on his Truth Social platform Wednesday, the families asked the president not to forget the 53 hostages still captive in Gaza.
“We must seize the opportunity while Iran and Hamas are at their weakest point to secure the release of all our loved ones in one deal,” the families said.
“We are at a critical moment with a time window that is essential for bringing them all home.”

The families expressed gratitude to Trump for his previous efforts to secure the release of their captive family members and confidence in his commitment to seeing all the hostages freed.
The US president’s “unwavering dedication has been a beacon of hope in our darkest hours,” the families said. “We write to you united in this unique anguish yet bound by the unshakable faith in your leadership and commitment to bringing our loved ones home.”
The families stressed, “As Iranian missiles streak across the sky above us, our hearts remain consumed by thoughts of our beloved family members enduring brutal Hamas captivity.
“We appreciate the American administration’s work in bringing home so many of those previously held captive, but we cannot stop until the last one is home.”
