A 17-year-old girl from Ness Ziona was killed on Thursday after being hit by a car in a crosswalk while running to shelter during a missile siren triggered by launches from Iran.

The 23-year-old driver is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol after a breathalyzer test showed a result of 470 micrograms.

During that same barrage, one projectile struck an open area in Israeli territory. There were no injuries or damage to property.

Additionally, local authorities reported shrapnel damage to the roof of a residential building in the West Bank. No injuries were reported.

IDF allegedly preparing for 'expansion,' officials say rumors are 'exaggerated'

Israeli officials on Wednesday told CNN that the IDF is preparing for a "significant expansion" of Iran and Hezbollah attacks. However, Israeli officials told The Jerusalem Post that "We are preparing for a possible expansion of the missile launches by Hezbollah, but the wave of rumors is exaggerated."

Magen David Adom treated 27 people across Israel between Wednesday and Thursday evening for minor injuries or anxiety symptoms.

Since the attacks began, MDA has provided care to 924 individuals, including 796 with physical injuries and 128 with anxiety symptoms.

Of the injured, 167 were wounded in missile strikes, including 12 fatalities (11 at the scene, 1 later at the hospital), 4 seriously injured, 8 moderately injured, and 143 lightly injured.

Another 628 were injured on their way to shelters, with 1 fatality in addition to the 17-year-old who was killed on Thursday. Twelve were hurt in road accidents after pulling over during sirens.
