The Home Front Command will ease defensive guidelines in several regions beginning Monday at 6 a.m., moving those areas from “Limited Activity” to “Partial Activity,” the IDF announced on Saturday.
According to the military, the updated policy will apply differentially by region, while current restrictions will remain in place until the new guidelines take effect.
The areas affected by the change are: the Beit She’an Valley, the Jordan Valley, Samaria, Judea, the Dead Sea area, Western Lachish, Gaza border communities, Western Negev, Southern Negev, and the Arava.
The IDF said the revised instructions were issued as part of an updated defensive assessment by the Home Front Command.
Education and workplaces to reopen under limited conditions
Under the new rules, educational activity will be permitted in locations where a standard protected space can be reached within the required protection time.
Workplaces will also be allowed to operate under the same conditions, the IDF said.
The military added that gatherings will be capped at 50 people outdoors and 100 indoors. Those limits will also apply only in places where civilians can reach a standard protected space within the required time frame.
The adjustment marks another step in the Home Front Command’s gradual easing of restrictions after tighter nationwide rules were imposed earlier this month during the fighting with Iran.
Recently, the military had already moved parts of the country from essential-only activity to limited activity, while officials said some schools outside the highest-risk areas could reopen subject to security assessments.
Even as restrictions are eased in some regions, the broader security situation remains fluid.
Homefront Command to issue more precise early alerts
The Homefront Command will start issuing more precise early alerts for ballistic missile attacks to avoid sending irrelevant alerts, the IDF said on Sunday.
"This measure is intended to reduce the delivery of irrelevant early warnings to civilians and to help maintain an effective emergency routine for the population," the military said.
The statement also emphasized that the upgrade does not mean that there will be changes to the existing protection guidelines.
"Upon receiving an alert, the public is instructed to enter a protected space and remain there until further notice," the statement added.
