Police officers were attacked by dozens of men after arresting a Jewish Israeli suspect who assaulted officers during a weapons seizure near the Israeli settlement of Kochav Hashahar, in the northern West Bank, on Sunday.

Police said the suspect began attacking officers who were at the scene to seize a weapons cache found in the area. He injured a number of officers before being arrested.

Following his arrest, some 50 individuals arrived at the scene and began disrupting police’s activity, surrounding the officers and eventually causing the suspect to escape.

Law enforcement launched a manhunt to locate the attackers, and bomb disposal experts were called to the scene to neutralize the seized arms.

This is a developing story.
