Ten soldiers from the IDF's Nahal Brigade have been convicted of mutiny and sentenced to military prison terms of 20 to 45 days, Israel Radio reported on Sunday.The soldiers reportedly refused to carry out orders during training in the Jordan Valley, saying that their concerns over incompetence by their platoon commander went unanswered.In letters sent to their brigade and infantry commanders, the soldiers said they had lost faith in their platoon commander after receiving several alleged questionable orders from him. In the letters, the soldiers said unqualified soldiers were told to fire artillery rounds, and that they were told to hitch rides home from random civilian motorists in the Gaza periphery area at nights.The soldiers also claimed they were threatened with disproportionate punishments over minor transgressions. The complaints are being investigated by the army, Israel Radio said.The IDF Spokesman Unit said the army takes a harsh view of mutiny, adding that the military is founded on heeding orders.
