18 families earn a third of private sector income

Just 18 Israeli families make 32 percent of the total private sector income, according to BDI data published on Monday. In total, the families earn a staggering NIS200 billion a year, an amount equal to 77% of the annual state budget. The Dankner, Ofer, Saban, Weisman and Arison families top the list. These five families alone control some 16% of the economy's business sector profits.
