4 arrested in multi-million fire brigade embezzlement
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Police arrested four firefighters in the North on Sunday and raided their homes, as well as those of some of their relatives, in connection with the alleged embezzlement of millions of shekels by a top fire brigade official.
The official allegedly used fire brigade control mechanisms and false receipts, depositing the money in his own bank account and the accounts of some of his associates.
Police suspect the embezzlement, which has come to be known as the "Red Hot" case, had been going on unhindered for several years.
