40 MKs sign petition calling on PM to dismiss Tamir

Approximately 40 MKs signed a petition Tuesday calling on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to dismiss Education Minister Yuli Tamir, due to her failure to solve the ongoing crisis between the government and the Secondary School Teachers' Organization and bring the 43-day strike to an end.
"As a result of the damage done to the education system, we, MKs from all factions of the Knesset, call on the prime minister to relieve the education minister of her position," the petition said.
