Abbas is prepared to negotiate peace on '67 lines

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas said on Sunday that he was prepared to negotiate with Israel without preconditions, on the basis of the 1967 borders. He told Palestinian TV that the involvement of Ehud Olmert and Amir Peretz in the Israeli political arena promised a better environment. Abbas believed that a new path to peace would emerge, Israel Radio quoted. The Palestinian leader also said that he thought the Israeli nation wanted peace; the only hindrance is the government. According to Abbas, Israelis are willing to relinquish the settlements and Jerusalem for the sake of peace.
