The Association for Civil Rights in Israel protested Tuesday the Justice Minister's plan to bypass a High Court of Justice ruling and prohibit Palestinians from filing lawsuits against the state over damages caused in clashes with security forces.
"A plan to change a basic law is severe, especially when it has repercussions for human rights," read a statement from the association.
Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann gave ministry officials two weeks to present to the Ministerial Committee on Legislation the formula for the new law that would circumvent the High Court ruling.
