Air raid sirens sounded in error in Kiryat Yam Monday, alarming citizens of the area.
Police said that no warning alarm had been set off in the area.
IDF sources said that the source of the problem is unknown, and an investigation into the malfunction has been opened.
The event has been recorded as an exceptional situation and as far as can be seen was merely a mishap, according to the IDF.
