Aliza Olmert: My husband was the victim of a 'witch-hunt'

In a television interview, Aliza Olmert said that her husband, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, was "chased out of office." In an excerpt from a Channel 2 interview broadcast Wednesday night, she said she believed her husband's resignation followed a "McCarthy-style witch-hunt." In September 2008, Olmert informed President Shimon Peres of his intention to quit once a new government was formed, following pressure from both sides of the political spectrum. He is currently under investigation by the National Fraud Unit on at least five corruption related-affairs.
