Appeals on repatriation of Jordanian killers

A Justice Ministry spokeswoman on Monday said the state would ask to extend the 6 p.m. deadline given by the High Court of Justice to respond to a petition protesting the cabinet's decision to repatriate four Jordanian terrorists who killed two soldiers in 1990. The petition was submitted by the mother of one of the soldiers, Pinhas Levy, and Almagor, an organization representing victims of terror. The other soldier who was killed was Yehuda Liphshitz. During a hearing on Monday morning, the court ordered the state to respond in detail to the petition by six p.m. However, the response was still not ready by that hour. The four terrorists are due to be returned to Jordan this week.
