The third day of the freedom march in support of the release of Gilad Schalit got underway Tuesday morning, after many of the participants spent the night in Kiryat Motzkin.
Due to an expected heatwave the participants set out on their way to Haifa earlier than planned.

Aviva Schalit, mother of kidnapped soldier Gilad, spoke to Israel Radio Tuesday morning claiming that there had been a series of failures in negotations for his release.
During the interview, Aviva said that the family does not maintain that Schalit should be released at any cost, but rather at the cost that was stated - 450 prisoners on the request of Hamas, and 550 of Israel's choice.
Aviva stated that senior security officials verified that Israel would be able to cope with the release of the terrorists and if Israel is not able to release Gilad any other way then the price needs to payed.
