Beersheba: 34 arrested for credit card fraud

Thirty-four people were arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of credit card fraud. They had used credit card numbers to pay hundreds of thousands of shekels in bills to the Beersheba municipality. The ring was uncovered after the municipality received dozens of complaints from people who found huge payments to Beersheba on their credit card bill, Army Radio reported. The matter was turned over to the police, which began a discreet investigation in September 2005.
