Bnei Brak resident arrested on suspicion of fraud

Police arrested a Bnei Brak resident on Friday on suspicion of forging documents to obtain loans amounting to NIS 13 million from The Bank of Jerusalem. In order to receive one of the loans the 36 year old allegedly pretended to be a representative of a Yeshiva in the city. He maintained that he acted in accordance with the Yeshiva, whose head denied the claims. The man fled to Canada in 2003 and was arrested several days ago upon his return to Israel. Police submitted a request for a remand extension.
