Bush pledges to work with Israel, blasts Hizbullah

US President George W. Bush pledged Thursday to work with Israel, criticizing Hizbullah for thwarting efforts for peace in the Middle East. Bush's comments, during a joint news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, came as Israel intensified attacks in Lebanon in response to a cross-border raid by Hizbullah operatives Wednesday during which two Israeli soldiers were captured. "My attitude is this: there are a group of terrorists who want to stop the advance of peace," he said. "Those of us who are peace-loving must work together to help the agents of peace."
