Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter said that speculations as to the identity of his next candidate to be the chief of police were "not worth the paper they're written on" during a ceremony late Thursday morning.
The ceremony marked the handover of the Tel Aviv detention facility from police to Israel Prisons Service administration.
Former candidate for the position IPS Chief Warden Yaacov Genot did not speak at the ceremony, nor did Inspector General Moshe Karadi, who was also present.
However, prior to the ceremony, when asked by reporters whether he had an opinion as to a suitable candidate to serve as the next police chief, he did not answer, but turned around and clapped Tel Aviv District Commander David Tzur on the back.
