Driver of would-be terrorist sentenced to 2.5 yrs.

The Tel Aviv District court on Tuesday sentenced Gaza resident Kamel Abbas, 34, to two-and-a-half years imprisonment for infiltrating Israel and abetting a felony. In July 2005, Abbas was convicted of driving a suicide bomber to perpetrate a mass terror attack in Tel Aviv. Abbas claimed he did not know that the man he drove was a terrorist, and he told the court that the man said he was sneaking into Israel in order to reach an Israeli-Arab village in the Triangle region of northern Israel. The would-be suicide bomber was arrested an hour after reaching Israel and divulged that Abbas helped him sneak in during police interrogation, Israel Radio reported.
