Finance Ministry: SSTO has turned strike into an end instead of a means

The Secondary School Teachers' Organization (SSTO) has turned the strike into an end rather than a means, the Finance Ministry said Monday. In a statement to the press, ministry sources said that the SSTO had chosen to focus on demonstrations instead of negotiations despite the government's various proposals, thus proving, they said, that the organization was more interested in maintaining the strike than in finding a solution. The ministry said it did not view the SSTO as a true partner for negotiations at the present time, adding that it had therefore requested the National Labor Court to hold an additional session on the conflict.
