The parole board decided to shorten the jail sentence of former minister Gonen Segev, who has served two thirds of his term. He will be freed from prison in the upcoming days.
Segev was convicted in 2005 of attempting to smuggle 32,000 ecstasy pills into Israel.
According to a plea bargain signed with the prosecution and eventually accepted by the court, Segev was sentenced to five years in prison and paid a $27,500 fine, which was donated to the Anti-Drugs Authority.
