Israel's Ambassador to the UN Danny Gillerman, while speaking at a specially convened UN Security Council meeting late Monday, called the statements recently made by Iranian, Syrian and Palestinian leaders "acts of war."
In his speech he mentioned the aid that Iran, Syria and the Hizbullah pledged to Hamas, as well as Iranian Presdient Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's explicit call on Friday for Israel's destruction.
"These words speak for themselves, and require no interpretation," Gillerman said.
