The Haifa Municipality has offered to issue special information cards for the city's elderly residents.
The cards contain the holder's personal information, as well as the medications he or she is taking and numbers of people to contact in the case of a medical emergency.
Israel Radio reported that hundreds of people have already contacted the city and requested cards.
