High Court to rule on Citizenship Law amendment

The High Court of Justice is expected to announce its rulings on Sunday morning on a series of petitions against an amendment to the Citizenship Law that prevents the granting of citizenship to Palestinian spouses of Israeli citizens. The petitions were filed by left-wing and civil rights groups who claimed that the law violated the Basic Law: Human Dignity and Freedom. The state responded to the petitions by telling the High Court that the amendment was vitally necessary in the battle against terror.
