Holocaust survivor benefits bill passes

A bill offering benefits to Holocaust survivors passed the Knesset plenum on its second and third readings on Tuesday. The bill was proposed by MK Yuri Shtern (Israel Beitenu) and approved by the Finance Ministry. Shtern stressed the moral importance of the law, saying "These people [Holocaust survivors] have been through hell, reached the state of Israel and we must not abandon them in their old age. This [law] is the moral obligation of the state towards Holocaust survivors and its approval is a historic justice."
