A Holon man in his 30s was hospitalized under guard overnight Monday on suspicion that he beat his pregnant wife to death with a hammer and then attempted to commit suicide.
A Magen David Adom squad found the woman in critical condition and evacuated her to a local hospital, where she died.
The husband was listed in light condition with self-inflicted stab wounds.
