Meant to serve as a warning message to the Hizbullah in Lebanon and Syria, the IDF kicked off on Sunday a massive four-day military exercise along the northern border that will include ground forces, navy warships, and IAF fighter jets. During the exercise, a large military presence will be felt in the Jezreel Valley, the Lower Galilee, the Golan Heights, Haifa, as well as the Ashdod and Eilat Ports. In addition, aircraft flying at a low altitude could be seen. Sonic booms as well as explosions will be heard. A military officer said that the exercise, in planning for over a year, was meant to demonstrate Israel's military might, and to deter the Hizbullah from launching attacks against Israel. Three weeks ago, the Hizbullah lit up the northern border after the guerrilla group launched rocket attacks against IDF bases and communities in the north.
