IDF General Staff members began Monday a two-day meeting during which they were scheduled to discuss, among other things, which weapon systems the IDF will acquire during the next 5 years.
Chief of General Staff Lt. -Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi was expected to support strengthening the ground forces, following the conclusions of the Second Lebanon War.
The decisions will be made within the framework of recommendations issued by the Brodet Committee in May.
