IDF officers urge Kaplinsky not to resign

Commanders of various IDF brigades called on deputy IDF Chief of General Staff Maj-Gen. Moshe Kaplinsky not to resign following the appointment of new Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi, Israel Radio reported on Friday afternoon. The senior officers arrived at Kaplinsky's home to try and convince him not to resign from duty because of his important role in rehabilitating the army following the Lebanon war, in which he was outgoing IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz's right-hand man.
