IDF to implement program to deal with shirkers

The IDF announced plans to implement a new reform program aimed at dealing with soldiers who wish to be discharged prematurely, Israel Radio reported Thursday. The program is intended for soldiers with motivation problems who will be dealt with by a committee of human resource officers. The committee will not discharge the soldiers, but will attempt to reposition them in other army units. In addition, if the committee decides not to discharge the shirker, he will be marked in his permanent record as having "bad behavior and attitude."
