Kassam rocket lands near Sderot

IDF kills two Palestinians overnight near fence; bomb detonated safely in Gaza.

After four Kassam rockets hit the western Negev on Friday, another Kassam landed in open territory near Sderot early Monday afternoon. No one was wounded, and no damage was reported. Earlier, IDF troops in the Gaza Strip discovered a bomb, which they detonated in a controlled explosion. No one was hurt in the incident. Overnight Sunday, Givati Brigade soldiers shot and killed two Palestinians who were crawling towards the border fence in the northern Gaza Strip, south of the Erez Crossing.

There were no casualties among the soldiers. Also on Sunday night, Egyptian security forces discovered a large stockpile of explosives near El-Arish in the Sinai. Security officials said that intelligence work had led the troops to at least 500 kilograms of TNT, which they found inside two gas canisters and several big plastic bags. No one has yet been arrested over the discovery.
