Knesset Ethics Committee rebukes Aflalo, Avraham

The Knesset Ethics Committee severely rebuked MKs Eli Aflalo and Ruhama Avraham (Kadima) on Thursday for their role in the Agrexco affair. The two deputy ministers flew to the United States at the expense of the state-sponsored agricultural exporter, despite failing to get the approval of the Ethics Committee. After the committee declined their request, they turned to Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin who approved their four-day trip, provided the two MKs pay for it themselves. Initially the company paid for the flights, while Aflalo and Avraham were meant to pay them back. The MKs returned the money only two years later, after the matter was published in the media.
