Knesset to decide on bill to suspend president

The Knesset House Committee was expected to decide on Monday whether to expedite the legal process regarding a bill that would make it possible to force the president to take a leave of absence against his will. According to Army Radio, if the initiative is approved, the committee members could force President Moshe Katsav in the near future to temporarily leave his position. Katsav has been under investigation for several months for alleged sexual misconduct.
