Labor Court to review documents explaining failure to end teachers strike

Representatives of the Finance Ministry and the Secondary School Teachers Organization are expected to submit to the National Labor Court on Wednesday documents explaining why negotiators have thus far failed to reach a compromise and end the teachers strike, which has now lasted over 40 days. It was not clear whether Labor Court President Steve Adler was expected to issue an injunction ordering the teachers back to work. Hundreds of teachers have threatened to violate any such court order and continue striking, or to quit their jobs, Army Radio said.
