Labor officials reported early Monday morning that Kadima had agreed to raise the minimum wage by NIS 500.
They said that the increase would take place in four stages with a NIS 250 raise this coming June 1, a further NIS 125 on April 1, 2007, and the last NIS 125 on July 1 of that year.
Labor has promised to raise the minimum wage by about NIS 1,000, to $1,000 per month, by the end of its term in the newly-inaugurated 17th Knesset.
This comes in addition to the NIS 122 increase in minimum wage at the beginning of April, when the minimum wage underwent a routine readjustment to changing market standards.
