Labor reverses its decision to back Amona probe

Labor on Wednesday decided to oppose the establishment of a parliamentary investigative committee on the violence during the destruction of the nine structures in Amona last week. The party initially planned to support the motion, but changed their decision after Labor Chairman Amir Peretz consulted with party members who thought the move would harm their election campaign, Army Radio reported. The Knesset was expected to convene on Wednesday for a special session, even though it is in recess, to discuss the formation of the investigative committee.
