Lapid meets with Peretz, says he won't join gov't

Labor Party head Amir Peretz met with Opposition leader and head of the Shinui Party Yosef Lapid Tuesday morning in Lapid’s Ramat Aviv home, following rumors that Shinui would join the coalition to save the government if the Labor Party left. At the start of the meeting Lapid said, “I do not intend on saving the government from the clutches of Peretz.” He stressed that elections were imminent, Army Radio reported.
