Left-wingers protest Lebanon war in Haifa

Police broke up a left-wing protest held in Haifa against the war in Lebanon Tuesday evening when a scuffle broke out among protesters. Nearly 150 left-wing activists were demonstrating in the Carmel Center on Derech Levanon; right next to them, right-wing activists held a counter-protest supporting government and IDF actions. A fight broke out betwen the two groups, and it was discovered that the left-wing demonstration had not received a police permit. Police removed the protesters from the scene, arresting four of them, and detained the organizers of the demonstration for questioning.
