Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said on Sunday that Israel must act immediately both against Hamas and to strengthen the new PA government under Prime Minister Salaam Fayad, Israel Radio reported.
Speaking at the weekly cabinet meeting, Livni said this was necessary in order to prevent a "renewed embrace" between Hamas and Fatah.
